Lived experience, Disability and Neurodiversity Experts
Beyond the Label
We are not defined by the labels society assigns us—whether clinical or personal. Instead, we are a complex, ever-changing web of psychological variables.
While primary characteristics exist, the true foundation of understanding lies in the nuance surrounding them. We focus our efforts there: looking beyond the label to understand the full presentation of the person in front of us.
Neurotype Consultancy T/A One NJC Ltd
By fusing Elise Martin-De-La-Torre’s academic leadership in Higher Education with Nat Clarkson’s strategic work in Health and Social Care (NHS, ADASS, Healthwatch), Neurotype offers a holistic approach to inclusion. We combine lived experience, technical precision, and pedagogical expertise to turn 'awareness' into structural change.
We are also operating under intersectionality principles, making sure that personal and cultural relevances are a factor within how we advise and seek solutions together. We also offer support and advice to the community via webinars and workshops.

About The Team
Elise Martin-De-La-Torre
Consultant and Lecturer
Elise Martin-De-La-Torre combines academic rigour with the unique insight of lived experience to drive systemic change in disability inclusion. Holding both a BA (Hons) and an MA in Education and SEND, her research critically examines the identity development of disabled students in Higher Education, offering evidence-based strategies to improve retention and student success.
Beyond academia, Elise champions a model of co-production; collaborating with stakeholders to design authentic, effective solutions rather than retrofitting access. As the Disability Champion for the School of Education at the University of Hertfordshire and lead for the Disabled Students' Network, she partners with institutions to move beyond compliance and ‘simple access.’ Her mission is to engineer cultures of true belonging where every student is empowered to succeed.
Nat Clarkson
Consultant and Facilitator
Nathaniel Clarkson is a multidisciplinary consultant leveraging a unique intersection of technical expertise, creative production, and lived experience to drive innovation in health and social care. With a rich history in media production and systems architecture, Nathaniel now applies this diverse skillset to strategic co-production and neuro-inclusion initiatives.
Following a late diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, Nathaniel pivoted to the care sector, working with key bodies including ADASS and Healthwatch to shape conversations around neurotype mapping and socio-psychology. He bridges the gap between technical infrastructure and human-centric care, utilizing his background in coding (PHP, MySQL) and creative direction to design accessible, engaging frameworks for mental wellbeing. His goal is to unlock human potential by equipping the next generation—and the institutions that serve them—with the tools for an equitable start in life.
